The Real Reason Your 20s Feel So Jarring (Saturn Is Forcing You To Grow)
How to navigate your Saturn Initiation & Saturn Return
If you’re around 22-32 years old, life is SUPPOSED to feel destabilizing.
This is Saturn at play.
In astrology, Saturn is the planet of maturity, discipline, and karmic responsibility.
If you don’t understand how a planet can impact your life, let’s break it down using first principles.
From first principles, everything in the universe is energy, frequency, and vibration (à la Nikola Tesla).
That includes both you and the planets.
We also know from physics that everything in the universe has a gravitational pull on everything else. Your phone has a gravitational pull on Pluto, and vice versa (in a very subtle way).
The Hermetics say, “The All Is Mind,” meaning everything is interconnected.
Even in the Bible, God said to Moses in Exodus 3:14, “I AM WHO I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I AM has sent me to you.’” The “I AM” is pure consciousness, pure being, the vibratory substance of the universe, and the fabric of reality that is interconnected to and underlying all things.
In essence…
Everything in the universe is interconnected.
Whether you look at astrology physically, metaphysically, or spiritually, you can deduce with logic and intuition how each planet impacts you, who are a fractal of the universe and a specific pattern of energy interlinked with the entire cosmos.
Now, back to Saturn:
Saturn Initiation & Return
Your "Saturn Initiation" begins around 22-24, and builds in intensity until your "Saturn Return" peaks at 29.5 years when Saturn does one full rotation around you to reach the same placement it was in when you were born.
Saturn’s function is to refine and structure your life to build the foundation for your soul's mission.
If you're out of alignment with your cosmic mission and bypassing responsibility, Saturn will quite literally B*TCH-SLAP you back into alignment.
This is why around 28-32 (and even sometimes longer), people go through huge life shakeups.
On the spiritual path, responsibility is often bypassed for “freedom” (I have often struggled with this myself).
Saturn is the brake that stops your free-floating woo-woo spiritual bypassing (disguised as freedom) and brings you back down into the material world so you can complete your earthly mission.
By understanding where Saturn is in your chart (and where you are at in relation to the Initiation & Return), you can come into greater harmony with Saturn.
When Saturn is happy with you, your life becomes more balanced, comfortable, and stable, allowing you to truly shoot for your highest potential.
When Saturn is not happy with you, your life becomes chaotic, overwhelming, and destabilizing.
During the Initiation (22-24), Saturn demands you GROW TF UP (however that manifests for you).
During the Return (28-31), Saturn demands you grow into deeper alignment with your cosmic mission and soul's blueprint.
You can prepare for your Saturn return and navigate this turbulent period by:
Establishing routine
Learning to set boundaries
Harnessing your warrior spirit
Taking on real-world responsibilities
Getting your finances & material things in order
The sooner you surrender to Saturn’s invitation to grow, the less painful the process becomes.
Actionable Advice

Go down a rabbit hole and ask ChatGPT what Saturn is asking of you based on where you are in life.
And remember:
Responsibility is not a burden.
It’s your vessel for the actualization of your soul's mission.
